Our Supporters
Without all of the kind Supporters to the MSYC project we would not be able to do as much of the valuable work that we do, here are just a few of the organisations who have so kindly supported us. If you would like to become a supporter of the project, please contact the team.

The Inner Wheel Club of Ashtead has supported MSYC for many years. They are well aware that the clubs being run are critical for the young people. Our volunteers have included members not only present but also past where they have enjoyed the commitment to MSYC hopefully bringing their personal input to meetings.
The club activities are both imaginative and stimulating and the dedication of MSYC staff is second to none. The friendliness between the volunteers is fantastic and the best interests of the children is always their priority.
Maureen Howell, Treasurer, The Inner Wheel Club of Ashtead
It was in the mid-nineties that a member of Soroptimist International of Epsom & District drew the Club’s attention to the fact that although there were support groups for adult carers, children and younger people whose lives were affected by illness and disability were less well served. Therefore in 1997, Mid Surrey Young Carers was started by the Club as part of the SCYP project.
SI Epsom Members were some of the very first volunteers that enabled the initiative to get started. They provided transport, accompanied Young Carers on outings, helped generally and with refreshments at YC club evenings, ran craft sessions, were available to offer support and advice and raised considerable amounts of money to support various activities. Thirteen years later, they still are helping and raising funds.
Because of this close relationship that SI Epsom & District has with Mid Surrey Young Carers, members have recently become more aware of the educational needs of the children and young people. Last year we started an Educational Support Fund for Young Women Carers and have so far provided money for IT and other equipment, school uniforms and travel costs. As Soroptimists we strive to enable women and girls to achieve their highest possible potential. Being a Young Carer is very difficult, if we can help make their time at school and college a little easier with a little financial support, we are very happy to do so.
Barbara Watts, President, Soroptimist International of Epsom & District
