Events

Events and Activities are offered to all age groups and trips  are arranged as far as possible to meet the requests of the young carers. From go-karting to dry slope skiing, from theatre trips to kayaking, we aim to provide a wealth of all kinds of experiences.

April 2011

Gatton Park

Our mini group have been offered the opportunity to experience the wonderful surroundings and wildlife that Gatton Park has to offer. The day will start with a morning of pond dipping to discover what wildlife survives in ponds around our countryside. Following this we are going to find natural materials from around the wood and make them into works of art. It is set to be an educational and fun filled day for all.

Frankie and Benny’s

With a group of over thirty seniors wanting to go out for a meal together, it can be tricky to find a restaurant that caters for all tastes. However, Frankie and Benny’s won the vote by a long shot as it provides a great range of food to cater to all tastes. This gives the young carers a great opportunity to have a relaxing lunch whilst in the presence of good friends.

London Eye

On many occasions our juniors have asked to go on the London Eye so this Easter we thought it would be a great treat. From every angle, the London Eye offers spectacular views over London. The outing will show them a unique view of their capital city as the views span up to 40km in all directions. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a nice clear day.

Camelot Events

Our teens are a sporty bunch and we through they would enjoy completing some team building exercises in the way of a fun and exciting assault course. The group will be set off in pairs to complete the demanding but highly exciting assault course, through tyres, under logs, up steep banks, down ropes and tunnels watching out all the time for hidden mines and trip wires, that could cost the team vital points. The day will not be for the faint hearted but everyone who crosses the finish line will be a winner.

Bocketts Farm

Our Tinies who are a lovely little group of 5–8’s are off to the farm this Easter to run about and see the animals. Bocketts Farm has the great combination of all types of animals as well as brilliant play areas, both inside and out. This means we can be sure to have fun, come rain or shine. On the day we are hoping to enjoy a picnic lunch whilst watching the pig race.

February 2011

London Dungeons

Our teen group started the February Half Term with a tour through the horrible history of the London Dungeons. The tour included a section on the Great Fire of London and a chilling encounter with Jack the Ripper not to mention a close shave with the infamous barber of Fleet Street, Sweeney Todd! After stepping out of the dungeons and all feeling happily spooked, we walked along London’s South Bank and grabbed a bite to eat.

Pool in the Park

Our juniors also got the chance to have a morning of swimming at Woking. Here the centre provides many pools with slides, rapids, waves, water cannons and Jacuzzis.  It allowed them all to have hours of fun before getting out and having a spot of lunch. As the weather was warm and sunny we went outside and enjoyed the outdoor playground.

Horsham Pavilions

We invited our minis to come and experience the outdoor and indoor pools that Horsham Pavilion provides. Everyone enjoyed both pools even though outside it was still a bit cool in the February weather! The kids made the most of the slides, rapids and waterfalls which made for an enjoyable morning. Following the swim we then had a lovely lunch before getting back on the minibus to travel home.

Soft Play

We put on a special event for our five to eight year olds and took them to the new soft play area at Leatherhead Leisure Centre. The new area enabled them to enjoy a climbing area, super slides, ball pools and swings which allowed them to let their hair down and have fun.
